Ron Wood and Christian Karl Janssen
They met in a
barren desert field. Together, Ron Wood and Christian Karl Janssen
formed Ron Wood Architectural Art Glass, LLC. After seven years,
their artwork is celebrated internationally.
Light intrigues them. Life inspires them. Their work is dedicated to
elevating the spirit. Ron Wood began to draw and paint as a small
boy. He studied art at Long Beach State College after receiving BA
degrees in Sociology and Rhetorical Theory. Janssen awoke from a
trauma-induced coma in 1993. Extensive rehabilitation preceded
convergence of the left and right sides of the brain. Janssen's
lifelong passions for manifestation led to Art Center College of
Design, Oakland University, Gnomon, Mount San Jacinto College, a
formal apprenticeship with Ron Wood, and international artwork
commissions.
Together, Ron and Christian have completed architectural glass projects for the
Four Seasons Miami; Grand Stair Balustrades, Promenade Sculptures,
The Four Seasons San Francisco; Hotel Main Lobby Sculptures, R17;
Rapid Transit Station Canopy, Sculpture and Curtain Walls in
Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Ritz Carlton Battery Park New York; Main Lobby
Vitrine Panels, 2 West Restaurant Mirrors, Ritz Carlton Central
Park New York; Main Bar Wine Display Panels and many more
astonishing works of artistic function and display.
Currently Ron and Christian are working on several projects with Glass Artists
Gallery. One project features a suspended Zen Garden in glass.
Collaborating with blown glass for the “rocks”, the design of
raked sand and moss integrating with the dimensionality of the
rocks above and below a plane of 1/2” starfire glass is suspended
above a dining room table.
