Renato Foti and Debbie Allison, Trio Design Glassware, Canada

Renato Foti and Debbie Allison, Trio Design Glassware, CanadaContemporary design and bold colors exemplify the styles of Renato Foti’s works in fused & slumped glass. In their studio outside of Toronto, Canada, the designing duo of Renato and partner Debbie Allison create works of functional and architectural art. The focus of their works adds structure, balance, color and simplicity to home and working environments.  Balance is of critical importance to their designed pieces, reflecting Renato’s personal philosophy in life and in his Art.

Renato Foti has been making and designing unique serving pieces since 1995 and Sculptures in Glass since 1993. He still continues to cast glass into "Mask" sculptures. The quality of handmade glass can be seen in the fine Renato Foti and Debbie Allison, Trio Design Glassware, Canadabubbles and textures, which appear in each piece...these unique marks distinguish Trio glassware from mass-produced, factory and pressed glass, adding to each piece's original design. Debbie Allison started to work with Renato & Trio Design Glassware in early 2000. She assists in producing many of the limited production pieces.

Renato Foti and Debbie Allison, Trio Design Glassware, CanadaThe process of fusing and slumping is that the pattern for each piece is custom designed and laid out to fit the plate’s shape and size. Next, "Artist Quality" fusible glass (allowing for mixing & matching of different colors) is hand-cut and placed on a clear base glass. Each piece is hand-placed in the Trio’s own kiln for fusing. Once cooled, the piece is diamond-ground prior to the slumping process. Special molds are used to create each shape in the slumping process. Once complete, the piece is signed and numbered as a Trio original.

Renato and Debbie have created many sinks, sconces, pendants, vessels and bowls for Glass Artists Gallery clients.
